Rutherford County, TN : Smyrna woman killed in an ATV crash in Rockvale on Wednesday afternoon, August 17, 2016

A Smyrna woman was killed in an ATV crash in southern Rutherford County Wednesday afternoon, according to the Tennessee Highway Patrol.

Amber Biggs, 32, was traveling southbound on Morgan Road in the Rockvale community around 2:50 p.m. and lost control of the 2006 Suzuki four-wheeler she was driving, according to a preliminary report filed by Trooper Gerald Buchanon.

"(The vehicle) went off the right side of the roadway and the driver was thrown from the vehicle," Buchanon wrote. The ATV continued to overturn and came to rest in a driveway, the report said. Biggs tested positive for alcohol and was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

She was not wearing a seat belt, which would have made a difference in the outcome of the crash, Buchanon wrote.
