WARWICK, RI : Police ID man who died in Warwick crash on Sunday, February 26th 2017

An 82-year-old Cranston man was killed Sunday night in a three-car crash on Warwick Avenue involving a drunken driver, according to the Warwick police.

The crash happened around 10 p.m. when a car heading south broadsided a vehicle pulling onto Warwick Avenue from Betsey Williams Drive, the police said in a news release. Both vehicles then careened into a third car.

The driver of one of the cars, Daniel McCarthy of Cranston, was taken to Rhode Island Hospital and later pronounced dead.

The driver of the southbound car, Megan White, 26, of Blake Street in Warwick, was charged with driving under the influence death resulting, according to the Warwick police. She was arraigned in District Court and held on $15,000 bail.

No information was immediately available about her condition or that of the third driver involved in the crash.
