WILTON, ME : Two injured in separate crashes in Wilton on Tuesday, 13th March 2018

A woman and a child were injured Monday afternoon in separate accidents on Route 2.

Joan Lanphere, 78, of Wilton, told police she stopped the 1998 Subaru Forester she was driving at the stop sign on Maxwell Road, didn’t see any vehicles coming so she started to cross Main Street. Her car collided with the driver’s side of a westbound 2012 Ford Escape driven by Rebecca Curtis, 60, of Farmington, on Route 2, officer Efra Becerra said Tuesday. The accident was reported at 2:15 p.m.

Curtis complained of chest pain and was taken by a NorthStar EMS ambulance to Franklin Memorial Hospital in Farmington.

In a crash reported at 3:58 p.m., Sandra Griffin, 64, of Farmington, told police she had stopped at Route 2 and Main Street in East Wilton and thought she had enough room to go on Route 2, near McCrillis Corner Road, Becerra said.

Griffin’s Ford 150 pickup truck collided with a Ford Fiesta on Route 2 East driven by Forrest Morse, 24, of Wilton. He had three passengers, including two young children. A 7-year-old boy received a cut on his eyebrow, Becerra said.

The child was taken by NorthStar to Farmington Memorial Hospital accompanied by his mother, Jessica Williams, 25, of Wilton, also a passenger in the car.

Everyone else was checked at the scene by ambulance personnel and released, he said.

Wilton Fire Rescue Department assisted at both accidents.
