Butler County, PA : 14-year-old injured in collision with pickup on Monday, 25th January 2021

A 14-year-old boy riding a bicycle was injured Monday afternoon when a pickup truck struck him on Route 8 in northern Butler County, state police said.

The boy, who is from Grove City, was taken by ambulance to Grove City Medical Center following the crash around 3:25 p.m. just south of Whitaker Road in Mercer Township. The extent of his injuries was not immediately known and his condition was not available.

Police said the teenager swerved in front the pickup truck while both were traveling south on Route 8. The bicycle was on the right shoulder.

The police report indicated the boy was at fault, but it was not known if he was cited. The driver was not charged.
