A Jacksonville man has been cited in a wreck that left another Jacksonville man injured.

At about 1:40 p.m. Tuesday, Jacksonville Public Safety officers and firefighters responded to a two-car crash at the intersection of Court Street and U.S. 17, according to spokeswoman Beth Purcell.

A 2016 Black Honda Civic was traveling southbound on US 17 attempting to turn left onto Court Street while a Toyota Prius was traveling northbound on US 17 when it struck the Honda, she said. The Prius came to rest on the sidewalk in front of the Center for Public Safety, damaging the pedestrian crosswalk device.

The driver of the Civic, Mark Harrell, Jr., 28, of Jacksonville was not injured, Purcell said. The driver of the Prius, Michael E. Taylor, 66, of Jacksonville was transported to Onslow Memorial Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Harrell was cited with failure to yield to the right of way and driving while license revoked.
