CHARLESTON, SC : Injuries reported following multi-vehicle accident involving police cruiser on I-26 on Tuesday, 16th February 2021

Injuries were reported following a multi-vehicle accident involving a police cruiser early Tuesday morning on I-26.
It happened on the eastbound lanes of the highway near the 212 mile marker at 6:24 a.m.
Highway Patrol said there were four vehicles involved a 1999 Toyota Coupe, a police officer’s 2017 Chevy Sedan, a 2018 Nissan and a 2017 Ford pick up truck.
According to Trooper Tyler Tidwell, the police officer’s cruiser was stopped in traffic when a Toyota Coupe swerved to avoid the stopped traffic. At this point, authorities say a Ford pick up truck struck the Coupe’s rear which caused the Coupe to strike the officer’s vehicle.
A 2018 Nissan was then hit by debris from the crash.
