Calhoun, GA : Decatur man killed in Georgia trailer accident on Monday, October 17, 2016

A Decatur man died and another was injured in a transfer trailer accident near Calhoun, Georgia, on Monday, according to the Georgia State Patrol.

Cordaryl DeShawn Robinson, 29, was a passenger in a transfer trailer traveling south on I-75 near Calhoun when the vehicle's left front tire blew, causing the driver to lose control, according to the initial accident release.

The trailer struck another vehicle in the rear following the blow out, officers said. Both vehicles crossed the median and hit a guardrail before ending up in the northbound lane, with the trailer landing on its side, the patrol said. Robinson was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the truck, James Flowers, 48, also of Decatur, was not injured. The incident is still under investigation.
