Jackson, MS : Two men who died in Rankin County car wreck identified on April, tuesday 18th 2017

Two people are dead after a single car crash in Rankin County.

The men have been identified by Rankin County Coroner David Ruth as 33-year-old Matthew Hooks of Brandon, and 57-year-old James Burnham of Brandon.

The wreck happened in the 1800 block of Shell Oil Road.Rankin County Deputies along with the Shell Oil Fire Department, Robinhood Fire Department, Pafford Ambulance and Rankin EOC responded to the scene.

Emergency crews said a Chevy SUV appeared to have run off the roadway, flipped onto its side and struck some trees causing heavy damage to the vehicle.

Both the male driver and the male passenger died on the scene.

Rankin County Coroner David Ruth recovered both bodies.

The accident is currently under investigation by Rankin County Deputies.
