Providence,RI : Driver who live-streamed high-speed joyride crashes again on December, Friday 29th 2017

A Providence man convicted of reckless driving after live-streaming himself weaving through traffic appeared in court again Friday.

Rhode Island State Police said Onasi Olio Rojas crashed his car on Interstate 95 South by Route 146 Thursday afternoon. He was arrested for driving on a suspended license and violating his probation.

Rojas, 21, pled nolo contendere to reckless driving and driving with a suspended license in March. Police said he live-streamed his joyride Nov. 30 just minutes before he crashed. Investigators said he reached speeds over 100 miles per hour.

At one point during the three-minute video, the speedometer on the car appears to reach 115 miles per hour.

Police said minutes later, Rojas lost control of his Honda and struck a garbage truck, spinning into the concrete median. He was hospitalized.

Rojas received a one-year prison sentence, though six months were to be served through home confinement and six months of the sentence were suspended with probation.

Through a translator, Rojas told Judge Anthony Capraro he wasn't aware he was on probation.

Capraro set $1,000 with surety bail on driving with a suspended license charge, though Rojas was held without bail for violating his suspended sentence and probation.

A violation hearing is scheduled for Oct. 24.
