TUSCALOOSA COUNTY, AL : 2 teens killed in weekend car wrecks in Tuscaloosa on Sunday, 22nd March 2021

Two teens lost their lives in separate car accidents over the weekend in Tuscaloosa.

The first accident was early Sunday morning just after midnight. Troopers say the teen died when the 2004 Chevrolet Tahoe he was driving left the road and hit a ditch on Hwy 82 near the 66 miles marker.

He was not wearing his seatbelt and was ejected from the SUV. The victim’s name has not been released.

Later that morning, around 2:30 a.m. another accident claimed the life of a teen and injured another. According to Troopers, a teenage driver in a 2008 GMC Sierre, ran off the road, hit a culvert and overturned on Alabama 219 near mile marker 39. The driver was injured and taken to a nearby hospital. The passenger in the vehicle, also a teenager, was ejected from the car and pronounced dead at the scene.

Both accidents are being investigated by Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division.
