North Miami, FL : A fatal wrong-way crash on Interstate 95 in north Miami-Dade on Monday, 9th July 2018

The man accused of causing a fatal wrong-way crash on Interstate 95 in north Miami-Dade had just stabbed his girlfriend before fleeing onto the interstate, Miami police said.

William Ronald Ferguson, 27, stabbed his girlfriend night before driving away and heading north in the southbound express lanes, where he struck several vehicles near Northwest 103rd Streett, according to his arrest report.

Mathias Akwa, 24, a student from Germany, died at the scene, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
