A Fall River, Massachusetts, man died early Wednesday when a dump truck turned into the path of his vehicle, the Florida Highway Patrol reported.
Troopers said in a news release Wednesday night that Johnathan Luiz, 34, was driving a 2006 Land Rover north on U.S. 301 in Alachua County near Northeast 177th Place when a dump truck headed north made a U-turn into the Land Rover’s path.
The dump truck’s driver, Berhmann Dorante, 59, or Orange Park, wasn’t hurt in the 6:18 a.m. accident. The news release indicated it was unclear if Luiz was wearing a seat belt.
No charges had been filed in the crash late Wednesday.
