Colfax County, NE : One person killed in car crash Colfax County on Tuesday January 12 2016.

The Colfax County Sheriff's Office is mourning a deputy Tuesday.Deputy Dan Coughlin, 36, from Fremont, died from injuries he suffered in a car crash in Colfax County.
Coughlin had just finished his shift when he hit a deer Tuesday morning on Highway 30.
The collision sent Coughlin's car into the path of an oncoming vehicle.
Coughlin was pronounced dead at the scene.
The other driver was treated and released.
Coughlin was a graduate of the 187th class of Nebraska Law Enforcement Training Center in Grand Island and had been employed at Colfax County Sheriff's Department since June 19, 2014.
Coughlin was a second-generation law enforcement officer.
