Mitchell, SD : Sioux Falls man injured in Oacoma crash on Monday, August 22, 2016

A 66-year-old Sioux Falls man suffered serious injuries in a crash four miles west of Oacoma on Monday, according to the South Dakota Department of Public Safety.

Randy Clark was driving westbound on Interstate 90 at approximately 8:58 a.m. when he rear-ended a semi truck that was driving slowly with its hazard lights on while in the driver's lane. Clark, whose injuries are not life threatening, struck the semi's trailer and rolled onto the driver's side of his 2016 Chevrolet Equinox.

Clark, who was wearing a seat belt, had to be extricated from the vehicle. He was initially transported to a Chamberlain hospital, but was then moved to a hospital in Sioux Falls.

The other driver was 35-year-old Brian Burns, of Parkston. Burns was wearing a seat belt and was not injured. Burns was driving a 2001 Peterbilt 379 truck and was pulling two trailers loaded with rock.

The South Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating the crash. Highway Patrol was joined by the Lyman County Sheriff's Office, Brule County Sheriff's Office, Chamberlain Police Department, the South Dakota Department of Game, Fish and Parks, the Department of Transportation, the Chamberlain Fire Department and the Missouri Valley Ambulance.
