Walnut Creek, CA : Noninjury accident closes intersection for repairs on Tuesday, 23rd August, 2013

A noninjury accident near the Webster-Posey tunnel will close an intersection for up to four hours, police said Tuesday.

At 2:33 p.m., a woman driving a sedan veered off the road at Constitution Way and Atlantic Avenue and ended up on a walking path, striking an electrical box for traffic lights, Alameda police Sgt. Alan Kuboyama said.

The collision took out the box, knocking out nearby traffic signals. Alameda fire briefly responded but found the woman was not injured, Kuboyama said.

Residents and visitors should avoid the intersection until public works crews complete repairs and restore signals, police said.
