Ann Arbor, MI : Dearborn Heights teen killed in motorcycle accident in Dearborn on Sunday, August 28, 2016

A Dearborn Heights teen was fatally injured in a motorcycle accident Sunday in the area of Warren and Bingham in Dearborn.

Mohamad Hazime, 19, was traveling westbound on Warren Avenue around 12:30 a.m. on a Suzuki motorcycle when he struck a Jeep Cherokee that was traveling eastbound on Warren near Jonathon.

Hazime, who was pronounced dead at the scene, did not have a valid motorcycle endorsement and police believe speed was a factor in the crash.

The driver of the Jeep was not injured.

"Our condolences go out to this young man's family and friends, but this is another example of an inexperienced motorcycle operator driving in a reckless manner," said Dearborn Police Chief Ronald Haddad in a statement. "This is our fourth critical motorcycle accident in the past four months and we are urging the community to hold each other accountable for safe driving."

Investigators don't expect alcohol to be a factor in the crash, Dearborn police reported.
