Casper, WY : 25-year-old Illinois truck driver accused of leaving scene of fatal crash east of Rawlins on Wednesday night,July 23, 2014

A 25-year-old man accused of leaving the scene of a crash that killed a woman east of Rawlins has been charged.

The Casper Star-Tribune reports Vasyl Zabiiaka, of Elmwood Park, Illinois, was driving a tractor-trailer west on Interstate 80 when he rear-ended a pickup truck Wednesday night. A passenger in the truck, 52-year-old Cynthia Sanchez, of Rawlins, was killed.

Investigators say Zabiiaka drove to a truck stop in Rawlins, called authorities and told them he hit a deer.

He is charged with reckless driving, following too closely and leaving the scene of a crash.
