TRAVERSE CITY, MI : Pickup truck driver in propane crash cited on Thursday, January 19th 2017

A propane truck on its side caused M-72 in Leelanau County to close for about two hours.

Leelanau County sheriff's deputies, along with the Michigan State Police and Cedar Area Fire and Rescue, investigated the Wednesday crash, which they determined was caused by a Cedar man, 54, driving a Chevrolet pickup truck on South Cedar Road who failed to yield to cross traffic on M-72, a sheriff's department release states.

The man drove his pickup south across the road, striking the westbound propane tanker truck, which flipped onto its side and slid west across the road.

An eastbound Honda was damaged by flying debris.

No one was injured in the crash. M-72 was closed while crews righted the propane truck.

The driver of the pickup truck was cited for failing to yield to traffic, the release states.
