Allentown, PA : Perry County man dead after tractor-trailer crash in Franklin County on Tuesday night, August 2, 2016

A tractor-trailer driver from Perry County died after colliding with another tractor-trailer along the Pennsylvania Turnpike in Franklin County late Tuesday night, state police said.

The crash occurred at about 11 p.m. along the westbound lanes of the turnpike near mile marker 192 in Fannett Township, a few miles from the Kittatinny Mountain Tunnel, police said.

The rig driven by a 32-year-old man from Colorado lost power for an unknown reason. Police said he then tried to "coast to the shoulder of the road."

During this time, the rig being operated by the 32-year-old Perry County man drove into the rear of the coasting tractor-trailer, police said.

The Perry County man's rig was heavily damaged and caught fire in the crash, he was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

The driver from Colorado suffered mild injuries, police said.

Police did not release the identity of either driver.
