TWIN TWP, OH : One dead after single-vehicle crash in West Alexandria on Wednesday, October, 18th 2017

A single-vehicle crash claimed the life of a 33-year-old Eaton woman on Wednesday, Oct. 18.According to Preble County Sheriff Mike Simpson, a maroon Jeep, driven by a male, was traveling east bound on Engle Road in West Alexandria, east of Jordan Road, when for an “unknown reason” drove off the right side of the roadway and struck a tree head on.

The vehicle was driven by Todd B. Stiver, 34 of Eaton. His passenger was his wife, Stephanie L. Stiver.

Stephanie Stiver was pronounced dead at the scene.

Todd Stiver was taken to Kettering Medical Center via medical helicopter with non-life-threatening injuries.

“We have deputy on the way to Kettering now to talk to the driver and try to determine what was happening, what was going on,” Simpson said at the scene Wednesday evening.

Simpson said the driver was conscious prior to being taken to the hospital.

West Alexandria Fire and EMS responded to the scene.

The crash remains under investigation.
