Monett, MO : A Springfield woman was injured in a wreck on Wednesday, December, 6th 2017

A Springfield woman was injured Wednesday in a wreck at 11:05 a.m. on Highway 248, three miles east of Cassville.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Rebecca Shoemake, 21, of Springfield, was driving a 2003 Ford Focus westbound and stopped to attempt a left-hand turn when her vehicle was struck in the rear by a 2013 Ford Escape, being driven by Doyle Russell, 81, of Aurora.

Shoemake suffered minor injuries and was transported to Mercy Hospital in Cassville. Russell was not injured.

Shoemake was wearing a safety device, and it was unknown if Russell was wearing one. Both vehicle sustained moderate damage.
