Arkansas State Police say a Texas man was killed after his car was crushed between two tractor-trailers in a multivehicle wreck on Interstate 40 in North Little Rock.

State police say the wreck happened Wednesday afternoon during rush hour. According to a preliminary report, a tractor-trailer failed to slow for traffic and crashed into a car driven by 53-year-old Ronnie Smith of Dallas. The impact forced Smith's car into a tractor-trailer in front of him, and Smith's vehicle was crushed in between the two large trucks.

State police say Smith was pronounced dead at the scene. The drivers of both tractor-trailers were injured and taken to Baptist Health Medical Center in North Little Rock.
