Framingham, MA : Two children, including 6-month-old injured after Mass Pike crash on Sunday, August 28, 2016

A serious crash on the Mass Pike shut down all lanes temporarily near the Framingham/Natick town line Sunday.

The rollover crash happened near exit 13 in Natick.

Massachusetts State Police said a vehicle heading eastbound in the right lane suddenly lost control and rolled over into a ditch adjacent to the roadway.

All eastbound lanes on the highway were reopened just after 2 p.m., but drivers should expect residual traffic backup in both directions, according to police.

Police said two victims inside the car suffered serious injuries. An 11-year-old girl and a 6 month-old girl were flown to Tufts Medical Center for treatment. Three other victims inside the car, two adults and another child, were not injured.

Investigators said the cause of the crash was under investigation.

Police said all lanes of the Mass Pike and the ramps to exit 13 were closed at approximately 1:25 p.m in both directions to allow two medical helicopters to land.

The road and ramps were reopened to traffic approximately 20 minutes later.
