Pittsburgh,PA : Man stable after being shot in Homewood; officers injured in vehicle collision on January, Sunday 28th 2018

A man was shot in Homewood South Sunday afternoon, Pittsburgh police announced late Sunday. En route to respond to the shooting, two police officers were injured in a vehicle collision.

The shooter, also male, fled but was apprehended by police, who witnessed the shooting happen. The victim was transported to a hospital, where he has since been upgraded from critical to stable condition, according to the police.

Neither man has been identified.

The officers were involved in a collision with a vehicle at the intersection of Washington Boulevard and Frankstown Avenue, and sustained minor injuries. They were treated at UPMC Mercy and released. The driver of the other vehicle was not injured, police said.
