Two men are dead after a head-collision in Kane County Saturday afternoon.

At approximately 12:55 p.m. Utah Highway Patrol was called to the accident that occurred on State Route 89 near Big Water.

According to UHP, Jay Russell, 53, of Page, Ariz., was traveling north in an Acura when he drifted into southbound lanes and collided with Richard Nutt, 78, of Douglas, Ga., driving a Honda Civic.

It is unknown at this time what caused Russell to allegedly drift into opposing lanes of traffic.

Both men were the sole occupants of their vehicles.

UHP officials say Russell was not wearing a seat belt and died from his injuries.

According to UHP, Nutt was wearing a seat belt but died from his injuries.
