One person was killed and another seriously injured in a crash on Interstate 5 near Salmon Creek on Monday night, Washington State Patrol officials said.

The crash was caused by a wrong-way driver in the northbound lanes near milepost 7 at about 9 p.m., Washington State Patrol spokesman Trooper Will Finn said. Two cars were involved in the crash.

All lanes will be blocked in the area for at least three hours, Finn said.

Drivers traveling north on I-5 should expect extended delays, he said.
