Seattle, WA : Pedestrian hit by several vehicles, critically injured in downtown Seattle on Thursday, January 5, 2017

A pedestrian was struck by several vehicles and critically injured Thursday in downtown Seattle, according to police.

Police and emergency crews responded to First Avenue and Columbia Street about 9:55 a.m. after receiving reports of a three-vehicle collision involving a pedestrian.

Medics reportedly began CPR on the victim, described as a 30- to 40-year-old man, according to preliminary reports. He was then rushed to Harborview Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.

Police say a truck was travelling south on First Avenue when it collided with a car travelling west on Columbia Street. The vehicles also struck a pedestrian in the intersection as well as another vehicle.

Detectives tested the driver, who didn't show signs of impairment.
