Two people and a dog died Friday after a crash between a pickup truck and a sport-utility vehicle in Clay County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. A Ford F-150 was southbound on U.S. 17 just south of County Road 220 when the driver hit a stop sign and went through the median into the northbound lanes, said Sgt. Dylan Bryan. The F-150 collided with a Lexus SUV just before 3 p.m., causing both vehicles to flip, Bryan said. The driver of the pickup truck and a passenger in the Lexus both died at the scene, Bryan said. A dachshund that was inside the Ford also died in the crash.
