Graettinger,IA : Graettinger man dies in rollover crash on July, Saturday 15th 2017

A Graettinger man died early Saturday after he lost control of the pickup he was driving and it rolled, throwing him into a ditch.

Jacob Alan Hoffman, 27, was thrown from the 2001 Ford F150 he was driving in the 4100 block of 290th Street in Palo Alto County, according to the Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Department.

According to the sheriff’s report, Hoffman was traveling westbound when he apparently lost control of the vehicle and attempted to correct its course of travel.

The pickup rolled “multiple times,” the sheriff’s report said.

Eventually it came to rest on its top in the roadway.

Hoffman was thrown from the pickup and he landed in the south ditch.

He was taken to the Palo Alto County Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The accident remains under investigation.

In addition to the Palo Alto County sheriff’s office, the Emmet County Sheriff’s Department, Graettinger Fire Department and Palo Alto Ambulance Service responded to the scene.
