WILLOW SPRINGS, MO : 2 Willow Springs High School students killed in rollover crash on Tuesday, 30th July 2019

Two student-athletes from Willow Springs, Mo. died in a crash west of town Tuesday afternoon.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says Zachary White, 17, drove an SUV off the right side of Highway 181 then over corrected, causing it to overturn on the left side of the highway. The crash happened around 3:45 p.m. eight miles west of Willow Springs.

White died at the scene, along with a passenger, Jonah Smith, 16. The Highway Patrol says neither was wearing a safety belt. White and Smith were members of the Willow Springs football team.

State troopers say two other passengers, Kyle Wood, 17, and Christopher Miller, 16, were not injured in the accident.
