Petoskey, MI : Boyne City man injured in one-vehicle crash in Charlevoix County's Wilson Township early Sunday, August 21, 2016

A Boyne City man was injured in single-vehicle traffic crash in Charlevoix County's Wilson Township early Sunday.

According to a news release from the Charlevoix County Sheriff's Office issued today, Monday, the crash happened at about 4:30 a.m. on Boyne City-East Jordan Road Near Pearsall Road.

Authorities said Ryan Carson, 20, of Boyne City was traveling east on Boyne City East-Jordan Road in a 2001 Ford F-150 pickup truck when the vehicle left the roadway to the left, struck a culvert, went airborn then struck a mailbox and highway sign post, rolled over at least twice, struck a large pine tree and then came to rest in the on the opposite side of the road.

Deputies said carson fled the scene on foot, but was quickly located by a Deputy. He was transported to Munson Healthcare Charlevoix Hospital by the Jordan Valley EMS Authority where he was treated for minor injuries.

The East Jordan Fire Department also assisted at the scene

Sheriff's office officials said the crash remains under investigation, including if alcohol was a factor in the crash.
