OCALA, FL : 50-year-old man killed in a single vehicle crash on Tuesday, 17th July 2018

A 50-year-old man killed in a single vehicle crash speeding at the time of the wreck, according to a Florida Highway Patrol report.

According to the report written by FHP Cpl. Jason Roberts, Eugene Clark, of Umatilla, was driving a 2000 Chevy Suburban, pulling a utility trailer, in Weirsdale. The vehicle’s speed was 63.43 mph. The speed limit on the roadway is 30 mph.

Roberts said Clark was traveling west on Southeast 156th Place Road when the rig went off the road and onto the shoulder, where it hit a large tree. The impact caused the trailer to separate from the Chevy. The trailer hit a fence and the SUV overturned on its roof in the road. Clark, who was not wearing his seat belt, was ejected.

People nearby heard the crash and called 911.
