Tuscaloosa, AL : Northport teen-ager killed in traffic accident on Monday, 22nd August, 2016

A 16-year-old from Northport died in a Monday afternoon wreck, according to state troopers.

Family members identified the victim as Northside High School student Tyler Bigham.

The single-vehicle crash occurred at 5:54 p.m. on Northside Road about 18 miles northwest of Northport when the 16-year-old's 2005 Ford F-150 left the road and struck several trees.

The teen was pronounced dead at DCH Regional Medical Center.

Troopers are continuing to investigate the crash.
