Warrenton,VI : Dumfries man dies following June 18 crash on July, Thursday 6th 2017

A 66-year-old Dumfries man died Thursday of injuries he suffered in a June 18 crash on U.S. 1 in Woodbridge.

The wreck happened about 1:30 p.m. at the intersection of Vantage Drive.

Victor Brent Gibbs of Dumfries was traveling south in a 2000 Toyota Corolla and attempted to make a left turn onto Vantage Drive, but pulled into the path of a 2014 Honda Ridgeline traveling north, said Prince William police Sgt. Jonathan Perok.

The crash forced the vehicles into a third car, a 2005 Acura TL, which was stopped on Vantage Drive to turn right onto U.S. 1.

Gibbs was the only person injured and died at the hospital Thursday.

Perok said the intersection is not controlled by a traffic light.
