Two highways were shut down briefly on Monday following an 18-wheeler crash.
Corporal Eric Henry with MHP says the wreck took place on I-55 northbound, south of Crystal Springs on Exit 18, after the 18-wheeler left the roadway and struck some trees in the median.
Emergency medical personnel say the driver suffered chest trauma.
The safest place for AirCare to land and transport him was on Highway 27 and Highway 51 in Crystal Springs.
The highways were shut down during this time.
The 18-wheeler was carrying cooking oil.
Officials are still on scene trying the clear the mess.
