Boston, MA : 1 pedestrian dead, 1 injured after being hit by bus near Massachusetts Route 1A in East Boston on Sunday, August 21, 2016

One pedestrian was killed and another injured after they were hit by a private bus in Boston.

Local police say it happened just after 2 a.m. Sunday near Massachusetts Route 1A in East Boston.

One pedestrian was announced dead at the scene. The other was taken to a hospital. Police haven't released their names.

A Boston police spokeswoman says the driver of the bus is cooperating with police. There's no word on whether charges will be filed.
