Winter Garden, FL : 3-year-old struck in hit-and-run crash in Winter Garden on Monday January 11 2016.

Winter Garden police are investigating a hit-and-run crash in which a 3-year-old was allegedly struck by a vehicle on E. Cypress Street, according to the Winter Garden Police Department.
According to police, the child was walking with his 16-year-old brother when the crash occurred.
The 16-year-old told WESH 2 News the two of them were getting ice cream from an ice cream truck when the car struck his 3-year-old brother, and kept driving.
The vehicle is described as a silver Chrysler, found abandoned in the street nearby. Police are searching for the driver.
The child was transported to Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children, police say.
"There was a car that was coming fast while he was crossing the road, because my grandma was calling him to come back," said Luis Garcia, 16, the victim's brother.
Garcia said he and his 3-year-old brother, Daniel Monsalve, were getting ice cream from a truck on E. Cypress Street when a car speeding by hit Monsalve as he was crossing the street. The vehicle then kept going.
"They hit him in the back, like that, and he just fell. I didn't really look at the driver or the car, I just looked at my brother," Garcia said.
Garcia said the ice cream truck driver took matters into his own hands.
"The guy in the ice cream truck told me to hold on to the money and he went after the guy and got pictures of the license plate and everything. He just left. I'm glad that he did that," Garcia said.
Police were able to locate the car about a half a mile away, near E. Cypress Street and 9th Street. Investigators said the car had been abandoned, but they were able to determine the car's owner. Investigators are now trying to figure out who was driving.
