Newark man dies in Saturday crash in Zanesville Ohio

The Zanesville Post of the Ohio Highway Patrol is continuing to investigate a fatal crash from Saturday evening on U.S. 40.
According to the patrol post, the crash occurred at 6:16 p.m. on U.S. 40 just east of milepost 2 in Hopewell Township. Ryan P. Longstreth, 38, of Newark was declared dead at the scene by the Muskingum County Coroner’s Office.The patrol post said Longstreth was westbound on a black 1996 Harley-Davidson motorcycle when he struck a deer crossing the road. Longstreth was ejected and struck the roadway. The motorcycle went into the eastbound lane and struck a black 2007 Chevy Silverado pickup truck, the post reported.The pickup truck was driven by Seth E. Hildebrand, 26, of Zanesville. He was not injured, the post stated.The patrol post said Hildebrand was wearing a seat belt, but Longstreth did not have on a helmet. Alcohol is not believed a factor in the crash, the post reported.
