St. Joseph County, MI : Bronson man killed in crash in Fawn River Township on Thursday, August 18, 2016

A 28-year-old Bronson man was killed Thursday when his motorcycle struck the rear of a pick-up truck in Fawn River Township.

Zachariah Himebaugh was declared dead at the scene of the crash, which occurred just after 3:30 p.m.

Michigan State Police said both vehicles were westbound in the 30000 block of U.S. 12. The driver of the pick-up was slowing to make a right-hand turn when Himebaugh’s motorcycle struck the rear of the truck.

U.S. 12 was closed for three hours while police conducted an investigation.

Speed is believed to be a factor in the crash.

Assisting were LifeCare Ambulance, Tri-Township Fire Department and the medical examiner’s office.
