Santa Rosa County, IN : Four-vehicle crash on Interstate 10 in Santa Rosa County on Tuesday, 20th August 2019

A four-vehicle crash on Interstate 10 in Santa Rosa County on Tuesday morning partially blocked the roadway for nearly two hours.

The crash involved a pickup truck, a semitruck and two SUVs, all of which were heading westbound on I-10 near mile marker 26 shortly after 6 a.m.

Only one of the drivers, a 64-year-old man from Holt, was injured in the crash. Gregg Clark Miller sustained minor injuries, according to a news release from Florida Highway Patrol.

Miller was driving his Toyota Tundra pickup truck in the outside lane of the interstate when he hit a ladder that was lying in the road. That caused part of the ladder to travel into the inside lane and into the path of a Hyundai Tucson that was in the inside lane.

The driver of the Hyundai hit the brakes to avoid the ladder.

Miller could not slow down enough to avoid colliding with a semitruck that was in front of him, and his pickup truck's front bumper crashed into the right side gas tank of the semi.

Meanwhile, the semitruck driver tried to avoid a Honda CRV that was in front of him in the outside lane, but that caused the semi to swerve into the inside lane and collide with the back of the Hyundai.

The roadway was partially blocked until about 8 a.m., according to FHP.
