Rochester, N.H : Motorcyclist badly hurt in Rochester crash on Monday, April 10, 2017

A female motorcyclist was transported via helicopter away from a crash on Milton Road at 12:30 p.m. Monday.

According to a press release from the Rochester Police Department, a 2002 Suzuki VL800 motorcycle driven Donna Smith, 56, of Rochester, was traveling north on Milton Road when it was struck by a 2000 GMC Yukon, operated by Amanda Anderson, 28, of rochester, as Anderson crossed the center line and appeared as if she was making a U-Turn.

Smith suffered serious injuries as was flown by Life Flight helicopter to Maine Medical Center in Portland, Maine, to be treated.

Rochester Police Capt. Todd Pinkham said Anderson was taken to Frisbie Memorial Hospital in Rochester as a precautionary measure.

Glass and debris from the crash was scattered across the roadway near Dunkin’ Donuts and the ramps connecting Milton Road with Route 16.

The Strafford County Regional Accident Reconstruction Team responded to further investigate the accident. The area of Milton Road where the accident occurred was closed for several hours as the scene was investigated.
