Orangeburg, SC : One dead after fuel tanker collides with tractor-trailer in Orangeburg County early Friday morning, August 19, 2016

The South Carolina Highway Patrol says one person was killed in a fiery crash involving two tractor-trailers in Orangeburg County early Friday morning.

According to the Highway Patrol, the accident happened at 3 a.m. when the driver of a 2015 Volvo tractor-trailer collided with a 2016 Freightliner as the Freightliner was attempting to pull on to Neeses Camp Road.

Sgt. Bob Beres with the SCHP says one of the tractor-trailers was carrying gasoline and both trucks caught fire. The other truck, out of Georgetown, was carrying boxes.

The Highway Patrol says the driver of the truck carrying boxes was killed. The coroner has not released the victim's name yet.

Several emergency agencies responded to the scene.

People who drive in the area should use an alternate route near Highway 321 and SC-4.
