Kirkville,IA : Iowa woman injured after crashing into semi on December, Tuesday 19th 2017

An Iowa woman sustained non-life threatening injuries after the vehicle she was driving in was struck by a tractor-trailer on U.S. Highway 34 near Kirkwood, Tuesday morning.
According to an Illinois State Police report, Katie Torrance, 26, of Burlington, Iowa, was westbound on Highway 34 about a half-mile east of 20th Street near Kirkwood.
The report indicates Torrance passed a westbound tractor-trailer driven by Craig Zoellner, 48, of VanBuren, Ind. But, Torrance failed to return to the westbound lane before striking an oncoming tractor-trailer driven by Christopher Wetzel, 46, of Alexis, Ill. Torrance’s Jeep Grand Cherokee overturned and came to rest in the north ditch of the highway. Both tractor-trailers sustained damage, as the truck Torrance passed was struck by flying debris.
Torrance was transported to OSF hospital in Monmouth for non-life threatening injuries. She was cited for improper lane usage. State police were assisted by Central Warren Fire Department, Kirkwood Fire Department, Galesburg Hospital Ambulance, Illinois Department of Transportation and Warren County Sheriff’s Department.
