Victoria, TX : Man dies after Jackson County wreck on Monday, January, 15th 2018

An Edna man driving a dually pickup truck died after his vehicle was struck by a truck tractor-trailer Monday night near Morales, in rural Jackson County.

Joshua Louis New, 34, was turning north onto SH 111 from County Road 283 when the truck tractor-trailer driven by Bruce Edward Higgins, 62, of Houston, struck the pickup on the driver side door at about 6:45 p.m., said Sgt. Ruben San Miguel, spokesman for the Department of Public Safety.

As of 9 p.m., both roads were still closed.
