CANTON, MA : 12-year-old boy saves grandfather, avoids accident on 495 on Friday, 18th January 2019

A 12-year-old Canton boy is being hailed as a hero after he saved his grandfather and avoided a major accident on Interstate 495.Benjamin Bubis was being driven to soccer practice by his 71-year-old grandfather when things took a turn for the worse.

Benjamin noticed something was wrong as the two were driving down I-495 south. It turned out that his grandfather was having a stroke.

Benjamin managed to stay calm and called 911 before taking the wheel and driving them safely off the road.

"I knew if I started to panic, things could have been way worse," he said. "It was, like, a life and death situation, so I just knew that I had to stay focused."

Thanks to Benjamin, his grandfather is now expected to be OK.
