LOUISVILLE, KY : 2 people in critical condition after rear-end crash with semi on I-264 near Shelbyville Road exit on Thursday, 11th February 2021

Two people are in critical condition after a crash Thursday on Interstate 264.

The rear-end collision was reported just before 4:30 p.m. on the eastbound lanes of I-264 near the Shelbyville Road exit, according to the Louisville Metro Police Department.

Investigators said a car was going east on the interstate when the driver lost control and drove under the rear axle of a semi-truck, which was also going east.

The driver and the passenger in the car had to be extricated before they were taken to University Hospital in critical condition.

Officials said the driver of the semi was not injured.
