Memphis, TN : One person killed in car crash Interstate 65 in Robertson County on Wednesday October 19th 2016

A driver was killed in a crash on Interstate 65 South in Robertson County on Wednesday.

According to the THP report, Joselito Ramirez was driving near mile marker 109 around 5 p.m. when the car in front of him slammed on the brakes.

Ramirez swerved left and went into the median before overcorrecting and getting back on the road.

The car went across the road and hit a guardrail, overturned and then went down a hill and hit a tree.

Ramirez, 45, was killed in the collision. Police said they do not believe he was using alcohol or drugs.

His passenger, 49-year-old Julio Aranda, was injured. There is no word on his condition.
