Edgewater, MD : Two injured in a crash on Muddy Creek Road near Collins Road sometime Friday evening, January 27, 2017

Two drivers were taken to the hospital Friday with serious injuries following a crash in Edgewater.

The Anne Arundel County Fire Department said a pickup truck collided with the back of a sedan on Muddy Creek Road near Collins Road sometime Friday evening.

When responders arrived on the scene, the two drivers were both suffering from severe injuries and were flown by Maryland State Police helicopter to take them to the University of Maryalnd Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore.

The 45-year-old woman driving the car and the 28-year-old man driving the truck suffered serious but not life-threatening injuries.
