Bozeman, MT : 40-year-old woman dies in multi-vehicle crash on I-90 west of Belgrade on Saturday afternoon, October 8, 2016

Gallatin County authorities say a woman has died in a highway crash involving two semitrailers west of Belgrade.

The sheriff's office says 40-year-old Sarah Wixston, of Butte, died at the scene of the Saturday afternoon crash on Interstate 90. Three people were taken to a Bozeman hospital but their conditions have not been released.

The Montana Highway Patrol says Wixston and another person were heading westbound in a vehicle that crossed the median before striking a semitrailer and another car head-on. The semitrailer then sideswiped another semitrailer.

The crash remains under investigation.

The incident came before two other crashes on I-90 that took place less than 10 minutes away from the fatal crash site. One had reported injuries.
