JACKSONVILLE, Fl : Man hit by car in Northwest Jacksonville on Friday, September 22nd 2017

A man in his 50s was hit by a car and seriously injured Friday night in Northwest Jacksonville, police said.

The crash was reported about 8:45 p.m. at West Moncrief and Cleveland roads.According to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office, the pedestrian was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Investigators said it's unclear whether the pedestrian was in a crosswalk.

The driver of the vehicle stayed at the scene, police said.

Traffic homicide detectives continue to investigate.
